The following are small to large projects anyone can do.  You would be more than welcome to join us in the distribution of the projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No need to register, everyone can do it!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebration of Giving!<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate your birthday, anniversary, or the new year, let your friends and family know that you\u2019re celebrating by giving!  Click on the link in title above for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bag a Breakfast<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll need one of each of the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. Small box of Cereal or Packet of Oatmeal w\/ cup & spoon<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Pop Tart, Nutrigrain Bar, or Granola Bar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Piece of Fruit, Fruit Cup, or Box of Raisins<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Hot Chocolate Pack w\/ cup & spoon<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Juice Box<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Napkin<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Place one item from each of the categories (labeled with a number) in a bag along with a note of encouragement for the recipient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Teenager Outreach Box<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    • Large box of Cereal, Oatmeal, or Pancake mix & Syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Jar of peanut butter & Jelly<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Four cans of Tuna + Tuna Helper<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Four cans of Soup<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Four cans of Ravioli<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Two cans of Fruit<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Two cans of Vegetables<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • One container of powdered tea or lemonade<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Four miscellaneous items, such as Macaroni & Cheese<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Snack items, such as crackers or granola bars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Place all items listed in a box or basket for us to deliver directly to the teenagers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Shoe Box Gift<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

      Collect shoe boxes which are clean and in good condition.  Plastic shoeboxes are even better and can be purchased at \u201cdollar\u201d stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      For Adults<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

      Fill boxes with new items, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        \n
      • Combs<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Chapstick<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Washcloths<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Novels<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Pens<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Tissues<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Band-aids<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Socks<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Travel size toiletries (tighten caps)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Lifesavers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Crackers<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Other small items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
        For Children<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

        Fill boxes with new items, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Small toys<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Books<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Card games<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Barrettes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • School supplies<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Travel size toiletries (tighten caps)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Sunglasses<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Baseball cards<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Lollipops<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Other small items<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Enclose a note of encouragement in every shoe box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Wrap the shoe boxes and label the tops with Girl, Boy, Woman, or Man.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          Sock It To Me<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

          Follow these steps:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          1. Collect new pairs of socks and toiletry items<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Roll one sock up and put inside the other<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. Add toiletries (tighten caps)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. Write a note of encouragement<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. Attach the note to a ribbon, then tie around top of sock<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            Jean Drive<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

            This is a rather large project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            1. Form a \u201cJean Drive\u201d Committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Obtain the support of the School Administration<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Set a goal<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. Collect jeans, pants, sweats, & shorts in all sizes \u2014 limit drive to just these items<\/em>.  Items must be clean & in very good condition<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            5. Make posters<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            6. Decorate large boxes for collection \u2014 place boxes in key areas & departments<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            7. Make enthusiastic announcements over the P.A. System.  Stress that men\u2019s jeans are most needed<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            8. You can make it a contest between grades<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              A Humanitarian Service Award will be awarded to honor each school and group that collects at least 200 pairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              This project meets urgent needs!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Celebrity Auction<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

              This is another large project, but can be quite something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                \n
              1. Form an auction committee<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              2. Obtain addresses of major celebrities from the fields of entertainment, sports, politics, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              3. Send letters that share the \u201cHappy Helpers Story,\u201d and request their donation of a personal item for the auction.  Let them know the date you need it by<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              4. Organize, record, & safeguard items received<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              5. Decide when & where to hold the auction<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              6. Secure an auctioneer \u2014 it can be any volunteer who is interested<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              7. Widely publicize the auction<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              8. Set up auction site<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              9. Donate funds raised to \u201cHappy Helpers\u201d to meet the urgent needs of men, women, and children<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              10. Send thank-you\u2019s to all who supported your project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                Members of \u201cHappy Helpers are available to assist with this project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                A Humanitarian Service Award will be presented to every school or group that holds a celebrity auction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                This is a unique, exciting, and very helpful project!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                Senior Class Legacy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                This project is very meaningful & memorable!  As members of the senior class prepare to leave school, they hold a class-wide drive to collect school supplies for needy children who will just be entering school the following fall.  This project is a great way for members of the senior class to bond even further.  A plaque will be awarded to honor each class that completes the \u201cSenior Class Legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
